Story

Those of you who know me know I have never been the one to take the healthiest approach to life & now it is time for change and fitness and health is the name of the game. My selfish aim of looking like a Mens Health cover model is still in play but I feel i should do something more rewarding with my efforts.

I have therefore decided to take part in the Rat Race Dirty Weekend event to support SANDS a charity very close to my wife and 200 of her friends who I must say are an incredible bunch of people.

SANDS supports families that suffer the tragic loss of a baby through miscarriage, still birth, pre-term birth or SIDS in early infancy.  When Salli was expecting our youngest child Lexi she became a part of a support network of women all expecting babies in the same month. Out of the 200 women in the group sadly 5 lost their baby girls, Isabelle, Hallie, Maisie Moo, Lexi & Maisie who all should have just celebrated their first birthdays.

So in memory of these babies, honour of her group & as part of my new healthy living regime by May 2013 I aim to look like a walking Mens Health advert, be healthy and and be taking part in what will be the biggest physical challenge of my life.

Dig deep people!! This is a worthy worthy cause and failing that - you can pay to see me no doubt want to cry by the end of it!
