Story
Hello All!!!
We are hoping to raise money to go towards Cristina Nobles Children’s Foundation.
We are all students of the age 18-19 from Aberdeen, Scotland. We intend to take part in the Mongol Rally 2011, an epic adventure to drive from London, UK to Ulaan Baatar, Mongolia covering approx 10,000 miles of good roads, bad roads and no roads. The rally takes part every summer leaving from various points in Europe including the UK, Spain and Italy, travelling by cars wholly unsuited to the task, over any route desired and completely unsupported by the event organisers. All in the way of raising money for charity, and upon completing the rally we shall donate our cars to local charities to be used by them or auction to raise money. Then flying back to the UK to complete the trip. For more information you can visit the rallies homepage here: http://mongolrally.theadventurists.com/.
We hope to raise over £1000 for CNCF in hopes to benefit the lifes of people in Mongolia.
"It was 13 years ago, in May 1997 that Christina Noble made her first trip to Mongolia. After nearly 70 years of effective Soviet occupation, the Soviets withdrew in 1990 and the transition from communism to democracy began. This caused tremendous economic chaos and a collapse of the state’s social services and infrastructure – thereby a dramatic increase in poverty affecting thousands of families. Upon arrival, Christina was shocked to discover the brutality to mankind, by witnessing thousands of sick and destitute children who were living on the streets, many of them would live in the cities’ manholes to shelter from the bitter cold of winter.
Christina has been dedicated to help the children of Mongolia ever since. Up to this date, CNCF has provided and will continue to provide services within residential care, education, health care and sponsorship. Over the last 13 years CNCF have saved and nurtured the lives of hundreds of thousands of children. We have assisted in helping build the infrastructure for future generations to come, to free children from the ongoing poverty that this country has suffered for too long. We have protected the seeds for them to flourish, to give them opportunities and to be productive citizens. CNCF always work with respect and dignity for each individual – and always in customs with Mongolian traditions and culture." - You can find out more about CNCF here: http://www.cncf.org
In our efforts we hope to raise well over £1000. We can do this by organising several fundraising events, few of which are already in planning. But you can help us reach this target and help make a real difference.
Whether you donate hundreds or just a few pounds we will be eternally grateful.
Thank You.
