Story
Anybody who knew Chris, knew that he was a kind, caring, loving, forgiving man who was very hard working throughout his whole life. He loved his family dearly and would do anything for anyone. He especially enjoyed all aspects of working with animals and in particular the health and wellbeing of our canine companions.
Chris's enjoyment came through spending time with his family (especially his young grandson LJ), playing and watching sports ranging from cycling, weight lifting & football (in his more youthful years) to playing carpet, short mat and long bowls (in his latter years). He was an avid Tottenham Hotspur fan and enjoyed watching most sports including big events such as the Paralympics & Olympics.
He enjoyed a number of holidays, both in the UK and overseas, including both Mediterranean & Caribbean cruises over the years. We were even planning the next one......withstanding Covid 19.
Due to Covid, Chris celebrated his 50th wedding anniversary in September last year with his closest family. We were planning on having a big party in February to celebrate both his 70th birthday and wedding anniversary his with wider family and friends.
Although Chris had a number of chronic illnesses, which he endured over a number of years without complaint, he unfortunately was taken into hospital with Sepsis at the beginning of December 2021 and passed away within 5 weeks. We were actually expecting Chris to be discharged on Xmas Eve, but the hospital were unable to find the right antibiotics to kill the infection. Due to Covid restrictions, he was limited to only having 1 named visitor, his wife Ronnie over this period. His family however were with him day and night for his last 3 days when for the most part, although he may not have been able to actually speak to us, he definitely knew we were there.
We have decided on a charity called Sepsis Research (FEAT), whose mission is to save lives and improve outcomes in Sepsis patients by funding research and raising awareness. To find out more, see https://sepsisresearch.org.uk/
