Story
Hello there!
Thanks for visiting my page. My name is Christopher Hughes and I'm running the 2010 New York Marathon to raise money for the charity Action For Kids.
Action For Kids is a small, London-based charity helping disabled children, young people, and their parents and carers. They provide mobility aids, work related learning and offer family support services.
Their vision is a world where all disabled young people and their families receive the support and advice they need, when they need it, for as long as they need it.
Their mission is to help physically and learning disabled children and young people and their families find a greater level of independence and opportunity, through the provision of appropriate aid and support.

Running a Marathon is something that has always interested me, and when faced with the opportunity to run in one for such a deserving charity, it was an easy decision. I'll be 19 when the time comes to run the New York Marathon in November, giving me plenty of time to train, and givng you plenty of time to donate!
Although Marathon running is something very new to me, the training and mental preparation won't be. In 2007, I cycled from London to Edinburgh and back, cycling 800 miles in just 10 days. In the summer of 2008, I climbed Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania, reaching the "Roof of Africa". And in the Easter of 2010, I cycled solo from London to Cardiff in just two days.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
Thank you.
