Story
Hi I am Christopher and I'm 11, I want to do something for Cancer Research UK and Marie Curie so I'm doing a 1.5km swimathon. Below I will explain why I'd like you to sponser me. One of the reasons why is because Cancer has affected me, not in the sense that I have it but in the sense that Cancer has taken my great Grandmother, my Nan and a close family friend, they are not all the people I know that have died or have battled with Cancer either. I'm sure there are many of you who have also been affected by Cancer, life is precious, but even more so when you don't have that long to live it and that's why we have Marie Curie, this charity raises money to help those people who won't live for long, so they and their families can have time together, so please, sponser me,
Thank you for your help,
Love, Christopher
On the 27th - 29th March, over 21,000 swimmers will be heading down to over 600 pools across the UK to raise money for our two amazing charity partners.
Cancer Research UK, the world’s leading cancer charity is dedicated to saving lives through funding research to help prevent, diagnose and treat cancer. Cancer Research UK are the only charity fighting over 200 cancer types but don't receive any government funding for their work, so their progress is all thanks to the support of people like you.
Marie Curie provides expert care, guidance and support for people living with any terminal illness, and their families. Around 2,100 Marie Curie Nurses work day and night, in people’s homes all over the UK, providing hands-on care to people when they need it most.
Together we can really make a difference. We invite our swimmers to tell their story to help spread awareness and raise vital funds for these two incredible causes.
