Middleton Central Foodbank provides people with 3-day supplies of emergency food. It is run to help support local people in need or crisis, and who are experiencing food poverty.

Story

In 2018 I ran three marathons in three months, this year I will go one race further and I am running four races in three months.

I will be following a special space aged scientifically formulated couch to marathon 5 month training plan which entails pounding around Middleton, Heywood or Rochdale until I am absolutely knackered. This will also be supplemented with a tri-weekly Olympic style rigorous aquatic regime of keep on swimming until my arms and legs give up. If you see an extremely tired, overweight mess who is struggling badly in a yellow jacket in these areas, it's most probably me. As usual, extremely poor efforts of a physical training masterclass will be reported back to my Diary Of A Rotund Forrest Gump Facebook page HERE >

On a more serious note, both foodbanks work extremely hard for those that have fallen on hard times and help those that need support the most. They are a credit to our community. Please give if you can to these two very worthy causes.

Due to Covid the original marathons have been cancelled so the first run is now to be at Heaton Park in October. The second race is at Tatton Park in November.

Money to be collected by Inspire and split between Heywood and Middleton Foodbanks.
