Story
Hi, we are Grace, Jake and Holly and we are taking part in a virtual rowing challenge to raise funds for British Heart Foundation, a charity close to our hearts.
Our challenge is to row the length of the River Severn in just under 24 days on a static rowing machine.
We will be Ready to Row on 1 December and our challenge is to be back home in time to hang our stockings up for Santa on Christmas Eve!
The River Severn is the longest river in the United Kingdom measuring in at 354km long, so that means we will need to each maintain a steady pace of 5km a day for just under 24 days (if Holly's arithmetic is right this time...ask us about her River Nile calculations, it's a very funny story!)
If you would like to join us on this incredible journey - all we ask is that you make a donation to our JustGiving page and then sit back and make yourself comfortable whilst we take you on the row of a lifetime, charting our progress over some of the UK's special rivers along the way.
Thanks again for visiting our page. The BHF has helped halve the number of people dying from heart and circulatory disease in the UK but sadly every day hundreds of people lose their lives. It's only thanks to support from people like us that the BHF can create new treatments and discover new cures. £24 could pay for two hours of research by an early career scientist, but every pound helps so please give what you can to help us reach (or, better yet, exceed!) our target.
