Story
Thank you for taking time to visit my JustGiving page. I am raising money for the Lost Little Ones Baby Bereavement Suite Appeal by walking 14 miles dressed in my Santa Hat and Merry Miles t-shirt.
The appeal was launched in October 2019 and is now two thirds of the way to the 100K target.
In my role as Community Fundraiser at Mid Cheshire Hospitals Charity I have met local families who have experienced the heartbreak of baby loss and heard their stories . Each day in the UK , 14 babies will die before, during or shortly after birth.
This year should've been the third Merry Mile in Queen's park which is one of the hi-lights of my fundraising year. This year it's virtual !
The funds raised will be used to create a dedicated suite and
attached outside space on the labour ward at Leighton Hospital for bereaved parents. The suite will allow parents to stay together for a few hours or days with their baby in a comfortable, non-clinical environment and provide outside space where families can relax in the fresh air and spend quiet time together away from the rest of the ward.
I did my school work experience at Leighton Hospital and realised quite early on I didn’t want to be a nurse ! As a local girl, sometimes patient, visitor and member of staff I see on a daily basis the care and attention provided by Mid Cheshire Hospitals Foundation Trust staff in hospital and in the community. I am proud to be able to support my local hospital.
I will be doing my challenge between 30th November and 12th December.
You can do your own Merry Miles too. Register now at: mchcharity.org/merry-miles-2020/
Thank you.
