We are a group of student physiotherapists and friends at the University of Hertfordshire.  This Christmas we have decided to grow beards in an attempt to raise money and raise the profile of Make-A -Wish Foundation.

This is a fantastic charity that is affiliated to our governing body the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy.  The charity aims to provide opportunities and life changing experiences for young people living with life threatening illness.

This is not necessarily a competition to see who can grow the fullest or longest beard, it is simply an event to encourage solidarity and friendly banter among friends whilst raising money for charity. We have set up a support website for our bearded adventure. http://physiobeards.blogware.com

The rules are as follows;

1) Last shave on 30th November 2006

2) No shaving until final day, 9th January 2007 (that's 40 days and 40 nights until the start of our new semester)

3) No trimming or Craig David shaping permitted. Gangsta Rappa/Noel Edmonds/Jeremy Beadle styled beards will be frowned upon!
