Story
We know how lucky we are to have homes and people who care, but sometimes it is it is easy to forget HOW lucky.
Chris Collins never forgot how lucky she was to have a home and people to care for. Which is why for over 20 years she, Dave (and her
children) have organized Carol Singing around the village of Hornby to raise money to help homeless people in our area.
Raising money to support those who have no homes, families or comfort at Christmas was Chris's Christmas mission and her family and friends are keen that this mission is continued, despite her untimely passing in spring this year.
This has been a really tough year for Chris’s family and it feels too early in their new reality to try and recreate her endeavours in full, but it seems more important than ever to remember Chris and honour her legacy.
On Wednesday 21st December we will be Carol Singing around the village raising money for Lancaster and District Homeless Action Service .
We may not make it to every door in the village but we invite you to support this amazing charity as demand for their services reaches yet another all time high.
Phil Moore from
LDHAS reminds us “ all the factors that contribute to people becoming homeless are on the rise and we are seeing more people “new” to homelessness than ever before.
We miss Christine, not just for the money she raised but also the awareness she
raised.”
