We are 'Christine's Beauty Queens' walking the Sparkle Night Walk to raise much needed funds for Ashgate Hospice in Chesterfield. 

The Sparkle Night Walk takes place at 10pm on 01.07.2023.

As the clock turns midnight on the evening of our walk, Christine would have been 70 years old, an age she so desperately wished to reach.

This is Christine's story...

In June of 2022, Georgia's Mum Christine was diagnosed with terminal cancer and sadly passed away just 3 months later at Ashgate Hospice. Because of the incredible team at Ashgate, Christine received the loving, compassionate and respectful care that everyone should have access to at the end of their life. Ashgate also made it possible for Georgia (and Dudley the Cockerpoo) to stay with Christine and sleep by her side, right to the end. 

It is impossible to put into words just what a special place Ashgate Hospice is and it is no exaggeration to say that Georgia is surviving the very worst of times, because of their kindness and ongoing support. 

Christine was the most wonderful Mum and a true friend to so many. She was also a former beauty queen and had won countless titles, including Miss Britain and Miss Yorkshire Television (hence our team name). She was however always modest, but truly beautiful, inside and out.

In her memory, we will walk to raise much needed funds for the next Christine and Georgia, who deserve to experience the incredible support on offer, should they need it. 

We know times are not easy at the moment, but anything you can donate would be greatly appreciated.
