Story

Hi and thanks for visiting my fundraising page.

Just wanted to let you know the reasons why I am running The Great North Run for Beating Bowel Cancer. I have lost three very close members of my family to bowel cancer, in 1972 my mum died of the disease, she was 44, eight years later her sister at 57 died of bowel cancer and in 2004 my cousin at only 43 was diagnosed with the same type of cancer and sadly died later that year. Everyone needs their family and to have them taken from you before their time is devastating, my mum died over 35 years ago but I miss her as much today as I did back in 1972. Raising funds for Beating Bowel Cancer may help someone not have to go through what our family has. I am also running in memory of my mum who I know in my heart will be with me every step of the way.

I know that we are in a credit crunch and finances for us all are being pushed but any amount of sponsorship will be greatly appreciated.

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Beating Bowel Cancer gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

So please sponsor me now
