Story
Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.
I did the run in 2hr 59min 30sec and have so far raised a fantastic amount of money for Alzheimers Society. It was a beautiful sunny day - perhaps just a bit too hot - and the whole family was there to see me and my best friend cross the finish line. We started this venture together and we finished it together.
At 6 miles I could run no more as my previous knee injury came back and the pain became so fierce. With Caroline (my best friend), willing me on we walked the last 7 miles faster than we have ever walked in our lives to cross that finishing line. I know Mum would have been willing me on and I couldn't give up. We did run the final straight to a small waiting crowd and rapturous applause from both families.

It is with the greatest sadness that I have to write that Mum became poorly yesterday morning (13 October 2008) and passed away just a few hours later with the family at her side.
We will all miss her terribly but take some comfort knowing that she is now free from the dreadful disease, vascular dementia, that took her from us almost 3 years ago.
May she rest in peace.

There is still time to sponsor me even though I have done the run.
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Alzheimer's Society gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
So please sponsor me now!
Thank you
Christine
