Hospice Of St Francis (Berkhamsted) - Sky Dive · 15 September 2012 ·

The Hospice helps people to live their precious lives well. Our care has many forms – at home, in our outpatient Spring Centre or through specialised care in one of our Hospice beds - and is defined by each person's need. We rely on donations to raise the £6m we need each year to fund our free care.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Mid life has loomed large but I still feel young at heart.

A challenge is needed!!!!

I can ski, can drive a snowmobile and water ski.... but have a fear of heights.

So what better challenge than to throw myself out of a small plane performing a sponsored tandem skydive in September!!! I must be mad!

Please support me in this challenge.

I am a nurse at the The Hospice of St Francis which is the charity that I am raising money for.

We provide special care for people with terminal illness in West Herts and the Chiltern area of Bucks. It is a free service and gives total care to patients and their families and friends when time is precious.

It costs over £3.7m to run the hospice services each year ( with just 20% of this from the government). For the rest we are dependant on the goodwill of people like you and the local community.

Here are examples of what your money can buy:

£25 could pay for a whole days supply of oxygen for a patient with breathing difficulties.

£50 could pay for a counselling session for a child experiencing loss of a loved one.
