Story
Fundraising is at the heart of our fight against sepsis. It raises awareness, and sparks the question: “What is sepsis? I’ve never heard of it!” In this way, fundraising can help prevent thousands of deaths. It also funds our vital support work, helping people adjust to life after sepsis.
We lost our fantastic irreplaceable mam suddenly in September 2017 due to sepsis complications which resulted in multi organ failure. Mam went into hospital with back pain following a fall and we never thought we wouldn't be bringing her home again. I'm running my first great north run on 8th September 2019, to honour her memory and to help raise money for sepsis to try and prevent other families experiencing the trauma and pain we had to go through. More awareness and education is needed about sepsis and the seriousness of this condition.
