Story
Thank you so much for donating to Marie Curie in Christine's name.
First with her mum and then through her own experience, cancer was a near constant presence throughout Christine's life. Being the sort of person she was she wanted to do someething practical about it. So she raised money for Marie Curie cancer care.
Her fundraising efforts started in 1998, when she swam an extraordinary 10 km as part of the Marie Curie Swimathon. I genuinely cannot imagine swimming such a distance! After that, she took a slighty less Olympian approach. Hanging outside busy London supermarkets with a bucket and the most extraordinary daffodil head-dress. She would charm passers by into donating with her infectious smile and her incredible energy. Sadly, I don't have a photo of Christine wearing the daffodil hat, but you can see Euan looking splendid in yellow in the gallery.
That Christine died so young, with so much life still to live, so many adventures still to be had, breaks my heart. If you knew Christine, if you loved her, if she brought a little bit of light and life into your world, then please join me in raising money for a casue so close to her heart.
With love,
Mark and Euan xx
