Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
My gorgeous friend Martine was diagnosed with Stage 3c Ovarian Cancer on 9 December 2019, just weeks after running the Great South Run. After surgery and 27 months of chemotherapy Martine was given the news there was no cure for her. She is now on a cancer maintenance drug, called a Parp Inhibitor, to give her more time. Martine suffers from extreme fatigue and nausea but is back to Spinning four times a week in training to run the GSR!
Myself, and her granddaughters' mum, Adele, are running with Martine to raise funds, but most importantly awareness of the symptoms of Ovarian Cancer as there is currently no screening for women. The symptoms include bloating, weeing more often, feeling full after small amounts of food, abdominal pains and extreme fatigue.
Please wish us luck - we're going to need it but determined to finish, on hands and knees if need be.
