Story
I was diagnosed 12 years ago with a very rare blood cancer called Chronic Myelomonocytic Leukaemia (CMML). This makes me extremely vulnerable to infections which is an even greater worry during this COVID-19 pandemic. Shielding during lockdown restricted my usual walking and I also have a very enlarged spleen which restricts the type of exercise and fundraising I can do. No bungee-jumping for me!! I now need to get back into exercising a bit more and I hope this 20-minute brisk walk - whilst fundraising for MDS UK - will give me the incentive to get fitter!
MDS UK is the only charity in the UK providing vital support, information, advice and conducting research solely into Myelodysplastic Syndromes (MDS)- a rare blood cancer where the bone marrow fails to produce healthy blood cells. We are a small charity that needs YOUR support!
