I'm Doing A Parachute Jump On 1st May 2016 With Skyline Parachuting To Help Raise Awareness For Motor Neurone Disease Association On Behalf Of My Husband Steve Who Lost His Fight In 09-04-16 To This Awful Disease.
Motor Neurone Disease Is A Progressive And Rapid Life Limiting Illness That Can Affect Anyone Of Any Age. The Disease Attacks The Neurones And Nerves Of The Brain And The Spinal Cord. Which In Turn Causes Weakness And Wasting Of Muscle Which Then Creates Loss Of Mobility In The Limbs And Difficuties With Speech, Swallowing And Breathing. In April 2014 My Husband Steve Was Diagnosed With Motor Neurone Disease After Several Tests Including A Nerve Induction Test. With My Husband Deteriorating Quite Rapidly We Have Been Quite Lucky To Have The Motor Neurone Disease Association With Us The Whole Way Through Showering Us With Help And Support. It's Been Hard Seeing Steve Go Throuh What He Has Had To Deal With And It's Heartbreaking To See Someone You Love Having To Go Through It. So Because Of The Support We Have Recieved I'm Going To Jump To Raise Awareness And Support For The MNDA Charity So They Can Continue To Help And Support Other Families Like Myself.
