Story
I want to raise as much money as I can for Cornwall Hospice Care in memory of my cousin Pat Wheeler. Many of you might not know that I am quarter Cornish. My grandfather and Pat's grandfather were brothers from Stenalees. Pat was such an important and special person in my life. Devastatingly she suddenly got pancreatic cancer in 2017 and after a short brutal illness died in the care of Cornwall Hospice. It was the worst of times and we miss her so much. She was an amazing fundraiser for Cornwall Hospice Care over many decades. This cycle ride is all about raising as much money as we can for this invaluable place to continue the legacy she started.
So, I am going to cycle from St Mawes Castle in Cornwall to Mont-Saint Michel in France at the beginning of October. It's going to take about 4 days (plus a night on a boat) so that's about 65-75 miles per day. Now I can hear some of you thinking "she's done that before (AND I sponsored her last time) and she has pretty sturdy thighs so she should be OK! ". But, to be honest, those Cornish hills are brutal and I admit I am more than a little worried. It is going to hurt for sure but then this is when I need to remember who I am doing this long ride for. I am part of a brilliant group of women, Team Pat, who no doubt will keep my spirits up and my legs turning along the way.
This is where I need your help. Please give whatever you can to support this special place. £20 will fund an hour from one of the specialist nurses. How many hours can you help me fund?
Just follow the link. It only takes a few minutes.
Thank you- it means so much.
