We provide help and hope to everyone living with dementia.

Story

We will be walking the 34km Jurassic Coast challenge from Corfe Castle to Weymouth via Lulworth Cover and Durdle Door which involves a climb of 1100 metres.

Due to covid-19 this event has been postponed several times and we’ve now confirmed that we’ll be participating 14th May 2022. Thank you to everyone who has sponsored so far - we’ll eventually make your donation worth it! Sponsorship from my previous page (https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/christine-bowen-08) has been transferred here as instructed by the organisers.

Originally we set up this challenge together to mark our 40th birthdays and we've hit a few bumps in the road!  On our first training walk one of the team broke her ankle at the top of the South Downs and then the pandemic hit before we managed a 2nd walk! Since then Christine has had long covid and so this has become a bigger challenge than originally thought and she's going to have to pace herself!  However, it will feel worth it at the end not only as a personal achievement but also in memory of Christine’s gran, Patricia Ward and Joey's grandmother Yvonne Evans, who both suffered from dementia.

"Alzheimer’s Society is transforming the landscape of dementia forever.Until the day we find a cure, we will create a society where those affected by dementia are supported and accepted, able to live in their community without fear or prejudice."

At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding groundbreaking research.
