Story
From 13th to 27th June 2010 I will be 'walking' the Inca Trail in Peru
Ever since my mum got breast Cancer in 1999 I have been compelled to run / walk to raise money for Cancer Charities. On my many ventures I have met so many people who have been affected by breast cancer, I have stood at the start line with 100s of women and cried with them for our friends and families, and I have staggered laughing and crying over the finish lines feeling amazed at the spirit of thousands of women training for these walks and runs desperate to try and make a difference so that other families may not have to suffer this awful disease.
This forthcoming challenge is the Inca Trail in Peru. It is not a power walk - it is a demanding physical challenge.
Not only will I be dealing with extreme terrain but also the altitute.
May I add that I hate walking up stairs and hills as my past walking companions would confirm.
But the point of a challenge is to be a challenge and I wouldn't ask you to donate money for this cause if I wasn't going to be tested to my limits.
Not only do I have the climbing, walking and altitude to content with; I also have to camp for 3 nights - me - the person who whines if I don't get an 'ensuite' when I go away!
So please help me by donating for this worthwhile cause - no sum is too small and all will be very gratefully received.
