It was incredibly tough and really pushed me to my limits - but I kept going and am back home now with amazing memories (and a few aches and pains!)

You know me, so you know I do like a challenge! And, it didn't take much to talk me into this challenge to climb Kilimanjaro (One glass of wine was all it took, as I recall).

After a massive amount of organisation, eight of us went out to Tanzania to attempt the trek of a lifetime. Seven days, eight friends, 5,895m (19,340ft). We were away for 10 days, with 7 of those being on a mountain side with no showers and frozen tents . We reached the top of Africa's highest mountain at dawn, watched the sun rise and staggered to the summit for a photo before rapidly descending and beig able to breathe properly again.

We funded our own trek personally so ALL the money kindly donated on my JustGiving pages will go directly to two fantastic charities:

Save The Children - working to improve the lives of children in Tanzania - one of the world's poorest countries. All the money I raise is going directly to support projects for children and thier families in Tanzania.
