We provide advice, mediation and support to prevent homelessness in Hertfordshire

Story

On 02 October 2022 I will be running my first ever marathon in aid of a local Hertfordshire charity, Herts Young Homeless. I've been living and working in Hertfordshire for the last 6 years, and homelessness has become increasingly prevalent here, and I feel passionately about supporting a local charity that is doing so much good for local people in Herts.

Herts Young Homeless is a unique charity based in Hertfordshire that provides services to support vulnerable young people. Their focus is firmly around the prevention of homelessness - from education in schools and family mediation through to supporting 16-24 year olds in their first homes or caring for adults of all ages who have mental health issues and housing needs.

Their services empower young people to be able to deal with the difficult situations in their lives, giving them the ability and confidence to ‘do it themselves’ and ultimately find stability.

Last year, Herts Young Homeless helped over 2,200 people to get their lives back on track, and your donations can help them to continue the great work they are doing to give young people a chance at a better life.

The training certainly hasn't been easy, but going back to a hot shower and a warm house serves as a reminder that so many people don't have that luxury.  Any donations, however small, are really appreciated - I am so grateful for the support.
