Hi All, thanks for visiting our just giving page.
On September 8th 2019 me and my good friend Donna Bradbury will be running the Great North Run (half marathon) for the Stroke Association in memory of my mum who passed away on 7th March 2017 from her second major stroke.
My mum was an amazing lady that was always willing to help others even when she wasn’t well herself, she would always make sure you where ok.
I struggled to come to terms with her death and seeing what she went through really broke my heart. I have found running and exercise has really helped me and I wanted to do something that would make my mum proud. I never thought I would have the guts to do what I’m going to do, I used to say to mum every year the Great North Run was the one I wished I could do and she would say go on then, and I would reply “yeah right mum”. The most I’ve ever run is 10k “you can do it” she would say. So here goes
When stroke strikes, part of your brain shuts down. And so does a part of you. Life changes instantly and recovery is tough. But the brain can adapt. Our specialist support, research and campaigning are only possible with the courage and determination of the stroke community. With more donations and support from you, we can rebuild even more lives.
