Story
In May I am walking the great walk of China over 5 days in order to raise as much money as I can in memory of all my family, friends and colleagues who have died from cancer, who are in remission and who are currently fighting to stay alive.
6 years ago my husband was diagnosed with kidney cancer. Thankfully he was one of the lucky ones and has been in remission for several years . Apparently if you're going to get any type of cancer, kidney cancer is the best one!! This was one of the most hardest things to deal with as a family. I have had friends in the past who have lost close relatives to cancer, but it's not until you are faced with this yourself do you realise the full heartache of this cruel disease.
Recently my aunty and cousin have both died of cancer and now my sister in law is fighting breast cancer. It seems that cancer is on the increase. There isn't a week goes by when you don't hear of someone who is fighting the disease or has sadly died from it. A cure needs to be found.
Ysgol Ifor bach is also supporting me in this challenge and together we are hoping to raise as much money as possible. We have already held a Roald Dahl day and on Friday 17th all children and parents are taking part in a sponsored Welly walk. There is also a balloon release with private messages.
Diolch yn fawr I chi am eich cyfraniad! Thank you everyone for supporting this fantastic cause, a special thanks to all the staff and families of Ysgol Ifor Bach. Together we can make a difference!
