Dear friends,

As some of you know, we both started as seasonal employees at Camp Fiver in 2002 (Christie) and 2003 (Mary). Fiver took a chance on us as young adults, recognizing and nurturing our potential to be leaders. 

Since those early days, we have relied on each other’s strengths (Mary’s creativity, passion and outgoing energy alongside Christie’s thoughtful, analytical approach and her calm-under-pressure demeanor) to co-lead Fiver together for nearly 20 years. 

We are privileged to be surrounded by a talented team of youth development professionals that provide transformational experiences for youth from systemically under-resourced communities. 

Check out what the Fiver team has accomplished for youth over the past 12 months!

•Welcomed 365 kids back to full two-week sessions at Camp Fiver

•Provided college tours for 171 teens

•Provided a wilderness trip experience for 65 high school youth

•Elected two Fiver alumni to the board of directors, a first for our organization.

•Secured 13 scholarships for our graduates from Fiver funders to schools like Johns Hopkins, Vanderbilt, and the University of Pennsylvania.

•Completed a diversity, equity and inclusion assessment of our organization to identify any blind spots and proudly live our values

•Added a third alumnus to the staff, bringing the number of alumni in full-time staff positions to three (of 13 total), all in manager-level roles.
