Harz-Gebirgslauf · 9 October 2010
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
In October Mark and I are going to be pushing ourselves beyond all previous limits as we partake in the very hilly Harz-Gebirgslauf marathon. It's one of the hardest marathons in Germany. In the thin air we are likely to face strong winds, cold temperatures (snow is not uncommon) while we run up a mountain the size of Ben Nevis. To put some sense into this madness we are aiming to raise a pound for every meter in altitude (not distance) we'll be covering - and it's all in aid of an amazing charity called ZRSDP (www.zrsdp.org) which my good friend Justin Hess is very active for. The charity is run out of the UK and is rebuilding schools and communities in rural Zimbabwe. Every pound donated goes straight to work on the ground and all administration costs are covered by the trustees.
Thanks :)
PS: Everyone who donates has the chance to win two tickets for England vs France at Wembley. Kick off is on 17 Nov at 8 pm. To win the tickets just estimate the time I will need for this run in xxh:xxmin:xxxsec and put the time in the comment box. It's 10 quid per guess. Those who have already donated please send me their guesses to chrw.alter@gmx.net
good luck
