After failing to complete a marathon in 2012, I withdrew altogether from running for about a year...  I am finally getting back into it, but do need a lot of motivation!!  What better motivation is there, than to set myself another goal, and at the same time do it for a good cause!

I've heard of Shooting Star CHASE when I looked for a charity in my area where I could get involved in volunteering.  My heart was touched by the work that they do!  They are a children's hospice charity, caring for children or teenagers with life-limiting conditions and with a life expectancy of no more than 19 years.  Their services are available 365 days a year and families receive support free of charge, in their own homes and communities and at two children’s hospices.

They need to find £23,000 a day to provide all these vital services...  £10 could pay for specialist feeding equipment for children and teenagers; £50 could help pay for music therapy, helping children and teenagers deal with difficult emotions; £125 could pay for one teenager to enjoy an outdoor adventure weekend to help build self-esteem and motivation; £610 could pay for medicines at one hospice for an entire month!
