I believe we have an amazing opportunity to love and support the many children, individuals and families that have had their lives completely uprooted by war, disaster and oppression.

Upbeat Communities exists to help refugees and asylum seekers rebuild their lives, seeking to build community between people of different cultures, backgrounds and experiences.

• Befriending new arrivals through the Welcome Boxes project
• English classes to help with integration in a new environment
• Community-building activities such as meals and days out
• Skills training such as first aid and interviewing for jobs
• Temporary accommodation for destitute asylum seekers
• Housing for refugees
• (coming later in 2019) Refugee family support, providing a safe space for kids to be kids
