Story

On Wednesday 20th April 2022, six eight-person crews from different Oxford colleges will attempt to complete a fundraising marathon row from the OUBC Boathouse in Wallingford, back to the College Boathouses in Oxford! Six crews are taking on the challenge, and they are: 1. Trinity College 2. New College 3. Lady Margaret Hall 4. Worcester College 5. Christ Church College 6. Balliol College The crews will row as a pair of boats with three staggered start times navigating seven locks between Wallingford and Oxford: Benson, Days, Clifton, Culham, Abingdon, Sandford and Iffley. It is envisaged that the event will take approx. six hours to complete subject to conditions! The aim of this event is for each crew to raise £1,200 in sponsorship which will support a junior bursary position at Fulham Reach Boat Club (FRBC). Each bursary place will give a young person free junior membership and access to rowing sessions for a year at FRBC.
