Railway Children provide protection and opportunity for children with nowhere else to go and nobody to turn to.
Every year thousands of children across the UK, India and East Africa run away or are forced to leave homes that have become unbearable through poverty, abuse, violence and neglect.
Reaching a child as soon as possible is crucial to getting to children on the streets before an abuser can, and before they become entrenched in street life. We race to get to children before the streets get to them.
The 3 peaks by rail is a physical and emotional challenge. Climbing the highest peaks in Wales, England and Scotland within 40 hours.
Starting with Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon) in Wales, walking 10km gaining 732m in 5 hours, in the dark. Then at 04:30am a 4 hour train to Scafell Pike in England, for 15km of walking gaining 1,178m in 7 hours. Lastly a 9 hour train journey to Scotland to walk 15km gaining 1,319m up Ben Nevis in 8 hours.
