Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I am delighted to report that I survived my first (but maybe not last?) Half Ironman challenge in Marbella last Saturday.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. So it's the most efficient way to donate - saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

My colleague Avril McCammon visited Cambodia last year with International Justice Mission (IJM). There are 40 million people in slavery today, many of whom are children. 25 million are in bonded slavery- mining for example for the mica that is the glitter in your make up, making your clothes, fishing for your tuna fish.

Avril has met people freed from domestic slavery, sexual slavery, fishing boat slavery and bonded labour slavery. She visited the Outland denim factory which employs girls freed form sex trafficking and pays them a proper wage.

In 2018 IJM rescued 141 children from sexual exploitation. 224 perpetrators were arrested, 3132 people received after care from social workers and support teams and freedom was obtained for 4267 survivors…
