Story
I wanted a challenge and to feel that I’ve not only achieved something on a personal level but been able to help raise awareness and funds for charity. The question was always what and who? The what options were quite limited I’ve tried running but can't get into the zone and if you ask those around me you will hear about my lack of cycling skill, splash me with water and I sink so swimming wasn't really an option either.
Over a well earned cup of tea (after a coastal walk in Cornwall) Peter and I thought a long walk was the answer and the 100K London to Brighton walk will certainly tick all the boxes.
The who was easier Blind Veterans UK is a wonderful charity who have been helping blind ex-Service men and women lead independent and fulfilling lives by supporting them with expertise, experience and a full range of services since 1915.
