My world fell apart on 13th July 2015 when my beloved hubby Chris passed away after just 4 weeks in hospital and a week at home with Acute Myeloid Leukaemia.

Chris was a gentle man and a true Gentleman, a warm, kind, thoughtful, genuine wonderful loving man with a big heart that he wore on his sleeve, always putting others first. He had the charisma and presence that just lit up a room and always had a great sense of fun and humour and enjoyed life with a smile and sparkle in his eyes.

We had the fairytale dream marriage and were truly happy together that we had both found our soulmate, always showing our love for each other which just grew stronger, never a day passed when we didn't tell each other how much we loved one another, Chris always said our honeymoon never ended. Chris was a true romantic, adored me and was the happiest he had ever been after meeting me and he was my world, my everything. The greatest gift he gave me was his love and I am truly lucky to have experienced more love in our 15 years together than some people have in a lifetime but how I wish we could have had a little longer. 

Running became my saviour & lifeline last year when I was a lost soul experiencing the deep pain, heartache and emptiness inside. Two years on but it feels like yesterday and forever in one crazy mixed emotion but I am now able to run with a smile on my face and my heart filled with love. I feel Chris will always be with me, my guiding light, drive and inspiration with our love for each other giving me the strength and courage to continue to make him proud.

We would like to think that maybe our fundraising can in some small way help towards others not having to hear the devastating words ' there is nothing more we can do' or they get to spend another day, hour, minute or have one more kiss or hug with their loved ones, then it is so worthwhile and precious because I would give everything for that, just everything.
