After 30+ years of avoiding any form of physical activity, that didn't involve, Bollinger, parties, discos, spectacular dance moves, and believing that I was still in my 20's, something very strange happened last year, when I sat in a bar (not strange at all), and challenged 6 mates to do a half distance sprint triathlon. My mates were stunned. Stunned that I even knew what one was, let alone was contemplating entering one!
With the Blenheim Sprint Tri under my belt (June 2008)....... I''m back, only this time for double the distance (ouch)..... on my own without my mates, (they all said no way....and I'm begining to realize why!)
Wet suit, carbon fibre, and lycra in hand, I plan to swim 1500m in the London Docks (yuk), ride 40k around the capital, and run 10k through the streets of , in what is billed this year to be the biggest Olympic distance Triathlon in the world with over 7000 competitors.
Of course there was never a question of which charity I'd represent.... as one of Futures For Kids very own trustees I could represent no other.
Its your donation that will fire me up on race day and draw me closer to the finnish line....
please do whatever you can...... Corporate sponsorship more than welcome.
And yes that is me in the photo... not to be confused with Chris Hoy!
