Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Friends and family members have kindly donated money on numerous previous occasions as I have run, swim or cycled for charity. Now I'm putting them all together to try and conquer the ultimate triathlon challenge: the Ironman. I'll let Wikipedia explain what that is:
An Ironman Triathlon is one of a series of long-distance triathlon races organized by the World Triathlon Corporation (WTC) consisting of a 2.4-mile (3.86 km) swim, a 112-mile (180.25 km) bicycle ride and a marathon 26.2-mile (42.2 km) run, raced in that order and without a break.
The one I am doing is in Bolton, which means it is one of the harder ones in the world with some killer hills on the bike ride! It is on July 19th giving me nearly seven months to get ready. I am raising money for Scope, a fantastic charity that exists to make this country a place where disabled people have the same opportunities as everyone else.
They provide support, information and advice to more than a quarter of a million disabled people and their families every year. They raise awareness of the issues that matter. And with our support, they will keep driving change across society until this country is great for everyone.I hope you will consider sponsoring my attempt to complete the Ironman and support this great charity.
