Story
I am raising money for Samaritans because they offer a valuable service and suicide can affect anyone, including my football club, Yeovil Town. In March 2021, Yeovil captain Lee Collins took his own life while still a player. Since then, we have also lost former players Sam Winston (44) and Neil Le Bihan (47). Suicide is the leading cause of death in men under 50 and we need to do more to tackle the reasons for this. In my view every suicide can be prevented, and having someone to talk to is the first step, which is why I am raising money for Samaritans.
The Samaritans' target for this challenge is 70 miles, but I'll be aiming for 140, and hopefully more. 140 miles is the distance between where I live in Devon, and Huish Park in Yeovil (and back!). I will aim to post daily updates on Facebook and Instagram.
