Story
It would have been easy to let things like charitable work slide when Covid shut down large chunks of our society. For those of us fortunate enough to avoid getting sick, the lockdown still had a significant impact on our heath and wellbeing. If you happened to be a part of a community or population that was already under-served in health and fitness services before Covid showed up, the pandemic just made the situation worse.
Despite restrictions, F4TC mitigated isolation anxiety, stress, obesity, and fear by providing daily classes to our beneficiaries and community. Our super-active non-profit organization is in dire need of funding now, to cover our high-quality program costs including top-notch licensed instructors, insurance, communication, and compliance. 2020 didn't allow for our usual active fun-raising shenanigans like muddy runs, 5000-meter swims, knockout boxing bonanzas, and four-event races.
ON AUGUST 15TH OUR BOARD MEMBERS ARE CELEBRATING OUR RETURN TO FUN RAISING BY JUMPING IN THE LAKE!
While we can't go as big as we like, we can definitely get back outside to an actual physical activity for this year's fundraiser. Many of you donated in previous years just to see me torture my poor Dad-bod in creative and exhausting ways, and this year, I'll be kayaking around Westlake Lake. I can hear you now: "That's not exhausting!" As some of you know, I'm typically not great in water, especially in boats. Ever tried surfing while seasick? It's not fun, but I vomited my way through it because I loved surfing. I love what Fit 4 The Cause stands for, so I'm getting in a kayak to demonstrate my commitment to the cause, and I'm hoping you'll join me in keeping F4TC in the fight. Please donate - every amount helps!
