Story
The Brain Tumour Charity is the world's leading brain tumour charity and the largest dedicated funder of research into brain tumours globally. Committed to saving and improving lives, they are moving further, faster to help every single person affected by a brain tumour. They're set on finding new treatments, offering the highest level of support and driving urgent change. And they're doing it right now, because they know that when you, or someone you love, is diagnosed with a brain tumour a cure really can't wait.
Unfortunately, during the first lockdown my wife and I had 4 other friends and close family diagnosed with cancer so I decided I would do something that would hopefully raise some much needed money to fund ongoing research.
On the first day of lockdown 1.0 (19 March 2020) I was due to have a haircut, but that never happened. In doing further reading I came across charities that need donations of human hair to make wigs for cancer patients so decided that I would let me hair grow until it was long enough to be useful.
Some 17 months and 9 inches of hair later it will soon be time have it all cut off and donated to the Little Princess Trust, a charity that provides real hair wigs, free of charge, to children and young people up to the age of 24 who have lost their own hair through cancer treatment or other conditions. (more info @ https://www.littleprincesses.org.uk).
Up to the first target the hair will be cut and then the remainder trimmed using a no. 6 guard on the hair clippers.
As each target is reached the length of hair remaining will reduce with a lower number guard on the clippers - keep following for updates.
