Story
MAF aircraft fly to some of the most remote communities and airstrips in the word. For 75 years they have provided aid and transport around the world to support the work of other charities and the communities they serve.
I volunteered with MAF in Tanzania for just a few weeks a number of years ago and have given financially ever since. Their aircraft, airstrips and people bring a connection to the rest of the word for some of the most isolated people.
This year, as part of the COVAX worldwide inoculation programme, MAF has already flown vaccines in Kalimantan, Lesotho, and Madagascar. Any financial support you can offer will help maintain their network of aircraft and staff to allow this work and their other aid and support work to continue.
After entering the Stirling Marathon and beginning training, Covid forced a move in my run date from October 2021 to May 2022. I decided to run my October marathon anyway, and as the encouragement of my friends and family will help me to complete the last miles on the day, I hope the fundraising will help MAF to fly the last miles getting vaccines and support to those in need.
Whether you support me on the day, or support MAF financially, or even run the last few miles with me, thank you.
