Story
I’m honoured to be an ambassador for Prostate Cancer UK, it’s a charity very close to my heart, and I’m proud to be running the London Marathon for them in 2018.
I know many people have walked, cycled, donated and supported the charity’s important work in the last few years to help stop prostate cancer being a killer.
But our job is far from over. One man dies every 45 minutes from prostate cancer and as a football manager that shocking statistic resonates with me. You would be a man down by half time, and down to nine men after 90 minutes if we applied this to a football match. One in eight men will get prostate cancer in their lifetime, but as a black guy the statistics are even more shocking – one in four.
I want to help us turn it around, and change the game for men. So I’ve signed up to run the London Marathon for Prostate Cancer UK.
The money I raise will help ‘shift the science’ and crack the three core issues of diagnosis, treatment and prevention, which have been left unsolved for too long. It will also help provide support and information to those affected by the disease.
Thanks so much for your support.
