Hi everyone, our son Kian and my sister Jodie are both type 1 diabetic's. Jodie was diagnosed at 6 years old and Kian at 4 years old. Jodie is now 18 and Kian is only 6 years old. They go through so much every day along with all the other type 1 diabetic children do in the uk. Their very brave and we are so proud of them both. A couple of weeks ago Kian was rushed to hospital in an ambulance in the middle of the night,  due to having a simple sickness bug. This caused him to hypo (blood sugar levels drop) dangerously low and he need to be hooked up to an iv glucose drip overnight. He also had ketones.

Kids like Kian and Jodie depend on insulin every day to survive.
