Story
I am so excited to be running the London Marathon in April 2023 for two great charities who benefit the lives of so many people – Hope & Homes for Children and my workplace charity, the St. James’s Place Charitable Foundation.
I took part in one of the many events they organise, a triathlon, six years ago which kick-started my mid-life crisis of triathlons, Parkruns, half and full marathons. Despite the black toenails, aching limbs and an unhealthy obsession with running videos on YouTube, I absolutely love it all! It’s also helped get my family involved too, so I have a lot to thank the charities for.
Hope and Homes for Children (www.hopeandhomes.org) work in over 30 countries to support children and families and are working to stop the institutionalisation of children in orphanages. I’d love to support a charity that helps children feel the love and belonging of a safe home. “It is easier to build strong children than to repair broken men”. (Quote from the old days).
The SJP Charitable Foundation (www.sjpfoundation.co.uk) funds small and medium sized charities across the UK and overseas working with children who are disadvantaged children, hospices, mental health and cancer support charities. The Foundation has raised £115m since 1992 and awarded grants to over 4,000 charities have been awarded grants, directly supporting 2.43m people.
SJP generously match any donation POUND for POUND. Also, there is gift aid for tax payers and if you get taxed with a higher rate or more, you can get tax relief. Fantastic!
Thank you in advance for supporting me and making a donation.
