Story
Hello everyone. In April Kevin, Adam and myself are running the London Marathon in aid of Alder Hey Children's Hospital in Liverpool.
Everyone has a special connection when it comes to Alder Hey. We visit regularly with our daughter Sofia and everyone in Liverpool has a strong affinity with the work they do. There can't be many people in the region who haven't needed the hospital either as a parent or even a child themselves!
This time it will be a bit different to the other events I've ran as I will be running in a GIANT elephant costume - Oli the Elephant! Alder Hey's official mascot. On a personal note it'll be my 25th marathon and possibly the last one for a while!
Joining me on the day will be my two helpers Adam Dixon and Kev Jones who will both be running with giant Alder Hey flags (just to make it that little bit harder!). Adam works at Alder Hey as the full time Charity Manager and is no stranger to fundraising challenges having recently carried out a gruelling 24 hour workout in support of the charity! The hospital also holds a special place in the heart of Kev and his family as their new born baby, Oscar, has been receiving ongoing care since his recent arrival into the world!
Thank you all for your donations and amazing support. Please look out for us on the day!
