Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Motor Neurone Disease is a horrible disease that attacks the nerves, in the brain and spinal cord. This means messages gradually stop reaching muscles, which leads to weakness and physical deterioration, more than 400 people currently have the disease in Scotland and around 130 people are diagnosed each year.
Sadly our Gran was diagnosed with MND in 2003, next year is the ten year anniversary so I thought it would be a good idea to follow up the fundraising last year and do something a bit different!
Although when diagnosed we were aware that there wasn't a cure for MND, we knew that symptoms could be managed to help my Gran achieve the best possible quality of life, it is for that reason that we want to raise money for MND Scotland, so that other people who are affected by this disease can enjoy the time they have left with their family and be as comfortable as possible.
MND Scotland is the only charity in Scotland that provides a great range of facilities which can greatly benefit and comfort families when affected by Motor Neurone Disease.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity. So it’s the most efficient way to donate – saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
£10 could pay for a Patient Information Pack which is delivered by MND Scotland's care team on first home visit after diagnosis. This gives the best quality of information to someone with MND and their family.
£50 could provide a family information session, which gives invaluable support and advice to families and carers.
£100 could enable MND Scotland's Welfare and Benefits Service to ensure that someone newly diagnosed and their family has all the financial support to which they are entitled
£1000 could pay for MND Scotland's care team to provide a whole year of direct care to someone with Motor Neurone Disease.
So please dig deep and donate now, every donation is greatly appreciated and will go towards helping people affected have the highest quality of care and advice.
Thank you
Chris
