Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page, we are raising money for the helping hands charity in memory of our son Nathan who died on New Year's Day 2015.Nathan was only two days off his second birthday when when he died, Nathan was a healthy wee boy but on Christmas Day he developed cough and on Boxing Day he took a seizure that was brought on because he had a chest infection, Nathan was admitted to the Ulster hospital but in the early hours of the 27th Decemeber Nathan condition deteriorated and he was rushed over to the intensive care unit at the children hospital at the Royal Victoria hospital, we thought that Nathan was going to get better but we were then informed that Nathan had a serious brain injury and that there was nothing the hospital could do and on New Year's Day Nathan had two cardiac arrests and the decision was made to turn off his life support. The children hospital at the royal hospital is currently also treating my six year daughter Stacey who had life saving surgery in June 2014 to remove a massive tumour from her ovary which she is currently still receiving treatment for.We plan to do numerous fund raising events over the next year in Nathan's memory which will be starting with a sponsored kick at my other son Callum's Ju-jitsu club in May.
