I lost my brother Mark suddenly in February 2019. Mark had a rare heart condition known as CCTGA (Congenitally corrected transposition of the great arteries) where the lower part of the heart is reversed. Mark died peacefully at his home on the 22nd of February 2019. 

As many of you know, Mark was one of the most genuine people you will ever meet and he was always there to look out for me. Not only did I lose a brother, but I lost my best friend. Our family lost a loving son, brother, father, partner, uncle, grandson & nephew. Mark always put family to the forefront of his life and always worked hard to ensure others around him did not want for anything. His phrase "you aren't here for a long time, you are here for a good one" will forever stay with me and although it was cut short, our time together was a good one. 

The support myself and the rest of the family have received over the past month has been truly astonishing and has been a massive comfort during this tough time. 

I am doing the Lisburn 10k road race on the 19th of June 2019 to raise funds for Chest, Heart & Stroke to help support others with CCTGA & similar conditions.
