In memory of Alfie Meyrick
At Benchmark, we feel passionately about supporting charitable causes in our community and following a staff poll, we are pleased to be able to partner with Chestnut Tree House in 2022.

Story

This year The Highdown Halfwits will ride as Team Alfie to raise much needed funds for Chestnut Tree House.

We are doing this in memory of young Alfie Meyrick, the grandson of our friends and old neighbours Helen & Ivan Fowlie. Alfie sadly died at just 7 months old from Gauchers Disease Type 2. This is a rare genetic disorder for which there is no treatment.

Alfie was cared for in his final days by Chestnut Tree House and they continue to provide essential bereavement support to the family.

I shall again be doing the 60k ride and your generous support would again be very much appreciated.
