Story
I have always loved cycling - the sense of freedom, pitting your strength against the miles, enjoying the views, sounds and scents of the countryside.
Cycling from Land's End to John O'Groats is something I have always wanted to do. It's one of those bucket list challenges for the cycling enthusiast. At last the opportunity came up this year to spend some carried-over leave, and the planning began! On 6 August I aim to set off from Land's End and complete the 1043 mile distance in 10 days, staying in B&Bs overnight but otherwise riding solo and unsupported, carrying everything I need for the trip on the bike.
I am doing this to support my charity the Stroke Association in their amazing work to help people rebuild their lives after stroke. My target is to raise over £1000 - will you partner with me in support of this great cause?
When stroke strikes, part of your brain shuts down. And so does a part of you. Life changes instantly and recovery is tough. But the brain can adapt. Our specialist support, research and campaigning are only possible with the courage and determination of the stroke community. With more donations and support from you, we can rebuild even more lives.
